Plenty of games have holiday events these days. One of these games is the Early Access title ARK: Survival Evolved. On Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, ARK: Survival Evolved’s latest patch 253 brings some holiday cheer to the dinosaur island survival game. An odd Rapter Claus can be spotted in the game, dropping loot, coal, and other pick-ups following the holiday theme. Winter Wonderland 2 isn’t the only thing headed to PC; Steam players get two new underwater caves to explore. Of course, said caves will also feature five new creatures. The Cnidaria Omnimorph is a nasty jellyfish that can’t be tamed, but it drops a special biotoxin and can act as a useful underwater barrier. The Troodon Magnanimus is the cleverest creature on the island with a penchant for hunting at night, they can’t be tamed but they can be befriended. Pegomastax Fructarator is sort of at the bottom of the food chain, but its unique aesthetics and scavenging skills do make it a little better to keep around. Tusoteuthis Vampyrus is a giant squid with tentacles that make it a real menace at close range but its unique ink does contain oils that can aid in processing fuels for other kinds of crafting. Finally, the Therizinosaurus Multiensis is a tame-able herbivore and notably skilled at both harvesting resources and combat.
