Pokémon Sun and Moon on 3DS and Final Fantasy XV on PS4 made huge splashes this holiday season over at Amazon.
Amazon has published their yearly holiday report highlighting strong sales among its many categories. While the company spent a lot of time highlighting the sales of their line of Alexa devices, they did take time to highlight video games. Though we don’t have any raw numbers, Amazon did reveal that Pokémon Sun and Moon and the PS4 version of Final Fantasy XV were the best-sellers for the holiday season. Specifically, this is what Amazon had to say regarding Sun and Moon:
“If each Amazon.com customer who purchased Pokémon Sun and Moon this holiday spent at least an hour a day playing the game since its release, our customers would have spent the equivalent of more than 24 thousand lunar cycles capturing Pokémon.”
Pokémon Sun and Moon are the seventh-generation of Pokémon games and released back in November to strong reviews. Final Fantasy XV also launched back in November on PS4 and Xbox One, but sales are proving to be much higher on PS4. In the UK, four out of five copies sold during launch week were the PS4 version. Amazon’s report suggests something similar might be going on in the U.S. Congratulations to both games for finding strong success this holiday season!
