Sony has revealed the most downloaded games on PS4 in 2016, and the most downloaded game is quite the surprise.
Despite a plethora of new releases in 2016, it was the hit 2015 title Rocket League that took home the prize. The soccer-meets-racing game launched mid-2015 on PS4 and PC before eventually making its way to Xbox One. It was a hit title back then, and continues to do extremely well thanks to its low price and free updates. The game beat numerous 2016 releases to be the most downloaded game on PS4 in 2016, including heavy hitters like Battlefield 1, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and Overwatch.

Sony has also revealed the most downloaded PS3 games of 2016, add-ons for PS4 and PS3, VR titles for PlayStation VR, PS Vita games, and PlayStation Classics.
