Steam Hits New Concurrent Player Milestone

Valve’s online digital distribution platform Steam reached a new record with 14.2 million concurrent users playing on the platform this morning.

The most popular games during this time were non other than Valve’s own Counter-Strike Global Offensive and DOTA 2 both have sports tournaments going on this weekend. Grand Theft Auto V and Civilization V were the two biggest triple-A games during this time both of which had over 50,000 simultaneous users.

It had been a big few years for a Valve, with the company seeing exponential growth in their concurrent player number and 2017 appears to be kicking off the right way for the largest name in PC gaming.
