A new version of Mario Kart 8 will be coming to the new Nintendo Switch, and will include new features, game modes, and characters.
Some of the new features include local wireless multiplayer with up to eight other Switch players, the addition of Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast, and two new courses; Urchin Underpass and Battle Stadium. Players will also be able to hold two items at a time, ala Mario Kart: Double Dash. The Boo item is making its return, and a new Feather item will allow you to double jump in Battle Mode.
New characters, including Inkling boy and Inkling girl from Splatoon, as well as King Boo, Dry Bones and Bowser Jr., will be making their way to the Deluxe version of the game. A new Smart Steering feature is also coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which allows more amateur players to play at 200cc without falling off the edge so often.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will come to Switch sometime in April.
