Lines are Redrawn in Latest Injustice 2 Trailer

NetherRealm Studios has released the first story trailer for Injustice 2 that teases a whole batch of new characters.

Not much has been revealed about Injustice 2’s story campaign. We really only know that following the events of the first game, Batman and the remainder of the Insurgency are left to clean up Superman’s mess. However, a new threat emerges that threatens the entire world. Thanks to a new trailer, and a new screenshot, we now know that threat is Brainiac.

The latest trailer recaps events from the original game and hinting at what is to come in the sequel. Brainiac, who narrates the trailer, reveals that lines have been redrawn. Old enemies will become allies, and allies will become enemies. The trailer also teases Bane and Poison Ivy as playable fighters. Finally, the trailer confirms that Darkseid will be a playable fighter, but only as a pre-order bonus.

NetherRealm also revealed that there will be Digital Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of the game. The Deluxe comes with a skin that turns Supergirl into Power Girl, and includes three DLC characters. The Ultimate Edition confirms that Green Lantern will be in the game as it includes a skin that turns the playable Green Lantern (likely Hal Jordan) into John Stewart. The Ultimate Edition also includes nine DLC characters. Pricing has not been confirmed for either edition.

Injustice 2 is out May 16 on PS4 and Xbox One.
