Netflix Won’t Be on Nintendo Switch at Launch

Sources indicate that Netflix will not be on the Nintendo Switch at launch. This information comes from Business Insider who spoke to Nintendo representative Kate Ellis, “The Switch isn’t going to replace your iPad — it’s a dedicated gaming machine to the point where it won’t have many multimedia functions at launch, Nintendo’s Kit Ellis told me. Don’t plan to watch Netflix on the Switch, for instance.”

The movie and TV streaming service has been available on Nintendo’s last three platforms, the 3DS, Wii U, and the Wii. This comes at a bit of a surprise, but this information does say at launch so it is likely given the popularity of the service that it will be coming at a later time. The Nintendo Switch recently had a presentation and Treehouse event this past weekend. It will arrive in stores everywhere on March 3, 2017.
