When we last checked in on Eight Points’ multiplayer survival adventure game The Wild Eight, it was was gearing up for a release in the first quarter of 2017. And now it looks like while we may have to wait at least a little bit longer for the final version, the game is now set to be released in Early Access for Steam on February 8. In an update on Kickstarter, the developers have announced that compared to the previous pre-alpha version, the Early Access release will see a redesigned upgrade system, a better user interface, a more advanced combat system, and other additions. Also, the developers have said they are now changing their name to Fntastic in order to reflect their growth, so just mentally cross out the previous mention of Eight Points.
We still have no word on whether or not the planned PS4 and Xbox One versions will see similar preview versions, though, or if their full console versions will be released at the same time The Wild Eight exits Early Access. For now, though, Steam users will be able to explore the potentially supernatural mysteries of Alaska with their friends this February, when the game is released with a price tag of $19.99 USD. Stay tuned to Hardcore Gamer for any possible impressions concerning this potential survival hit.
