EA has confirmed that many of the features that didn’t make it into the original Star Wars Battlefront will be present in the sequel.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is coming this holiday season and will feature content from the ‘newer’ films. That’s about all we know about the upcoming sequel, and that isn’t much to go on. However, during their third-quarter earnings call with investors, EA finally gave us some details about the upcoming game.
The next Star Wars Battlefront will be bigger thanks to even more locations, and more heroes and characters to play as. Most importantly, EA revealed that the game will incorporate multiple eras from the Star Wars canon, which means we might get the Clone Wars (Prequels), Galactic Civil War (Originals), and the Sequels eras in one game. EA also confirmed that the next game will include a single player campaign. No official title for the game was given.
Finally, Star Wars Battlefront 2 will see two studios helping DICE develop the game. Criterion, who worked on the VR mission, and Motive will help with the development. What exactly they’re working on has not been revealed.
Expect Star Wars Battlefront 2 to be revealed some time before E3 2017 with a proper gameplay reveal happening at the show.
