While we still have to wait until 2018 before Psychonauts 2 finally comes out, the standalone VR chapter of Razputin’s saga known as Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin is just less than couple of weeks away, finally providing us with our first Psychonauts game in over a decade. The first-person puzzler sees Raz using his psychic powers on his first mission in order to rescue head Psychonaut Truman Zanotto, who we get to see briefly in a new trailer released for the game, which you can check out below.
Appropriately enough for a game about secret agents with a heavy mod aesthetic, the trailer centers around its own Bond-esque theme song and credits, showing off our cast of characters and the different locales and situations they’ll wind up in…which appears to include a darker moment or two for certain protagonists. Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin is due out on February 21 for PlayStation VR, and to celebrate, those who pre-order the game will receive a free copy of the original Psychonauts for the PS4. Mind you, given the number of times it’s been bundled and put on sale, it’s hard not to own a copy these days, but if you want the first game as an additional appetizer before the sequel finally comes, you won’t find a better opportunity.
