Week five is here and it’s another good week of LCS action ahead. Before we get into that here’s the rankings going into day one:
1) Cloud9 (8-0)
2) FlyQuest, Team SoloMid (6-2)
4) Phoenix1, Echo Fox, Immortals (4-4)
7) Counter Logic Gaming (3-5)
8) Team Liquid, Team Dignitas (2-6)
10) Team EnVy (1-7)
Cloud9 made it through the first half of the split undefeated, but now they have to do it all over again. They’ve got a rematch against Team SoloMid and then they go up against their former jungler Meteos who they just traded to Phoenix1, but first kicking off this week is Team Dignitas and FlyQuest.
Unfortunately the big matches we’re looking forward to aren’t happening tomorrow and FlyQuest vs Dignitas shouldn’t be anything special. In a battle between the last place teams Dignitas was able to beat EnVy last week and get their second win of the split. That likely won’t help them here as FlyQuest looked really good against C9 a.k.a the best team in the LCS right now. Barring some amazing improvement from Dig, FlyQuest should take this easily.
The second matchup is where things will get interesting. Earlier yesterday Cloud9 traded their jungler to Phoenix1 to replace Inori. Inori isn’t off of the team or facing any sort of punishment, he just has to take care of some personal matters this week. So suiting up for Phoenix1 will be Meteos in the jungle against Team EnVy. This should make for a good match as Meteos has probably had a week tops to train and get acclimated to his new team, that and he hasn’t played competitively in some time. Hopefully Team EnVy can pick up another win for themselves and some momentum for the second half of the split.
Here are the predictions for today’s matchups and my record going into day one in bold: (20-10)
- Team Dignitas vs FlyQuest (0-2)
- Team EnVy vs Phoenix1 (2-1)
