Publisher BadLand Games have today announced they’ve joined up with one-man developer Thomas Happ to bring the acclaimed Metroidvania, Axiom Verge, to physical retail form. What’s more, the physical edition will come in not just a standard edition, but a “multiverse” version that, on top of a copy of the game, will feature a booklet with developer commentary and art, a double-sided poster as well as a “making-of” documentary on DVD. The Multiverse edition will be available for PS4, Vita & Wii U while the standard edition will only be available for PS4. Here’s a pack-shot of the Multiverse edition below.
“Fans have been asking for a physical retail version of Axiom Verge since the game originally launched.” Happ explains. “I’m extremely excited that the Multiverse Edition will be coming to retail soon. As a solo developer, it’s always been a dream of mine to see a game that I made end up on the store shelves!” Both physical editions are expected to release sometime in Q2 of this year.
