Microsoft Introduces Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft already offers backwards compatibility on the Xbox One for the Xbox 360 games that players already own. Now, it looks like Microsoft is taking a page out of Sony’s book by offering a monthly subscription to play previous games. Xbox Game Pass will provide unlimited access to more than 100 games. For just $9.99 a month, Xbox Game Pass will not be a streaming service like Sony’s PlayStation Now (which is $19.99), but a download service to provide access to not just Xbox 360 games, but games from Microsoft’s back and current catalog. When this launches later this spring, players will have access to the likes of Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16, and Soul Calibur II. The subscription will include related add-ons for the Xbox One titles. Every month new games will cycle into the service, while some will cycle out. Select members from the Xbox Insider Program will be selected to test the Xbox Game Pass. There will be more details on the program closer to launch, so stay tuned for more information.
