Oculus Drops Price of Rift, Touch Controllers

Almost a year after release, Facebook’s virtual reality company is lowering the price on both the core Oculus Rift headset and its compatible Touch controllers.

Effective today, the Oculus Rift will be available for $499 and the Touch controllers will be available for $99, each dropping $100 off their original launch prices of $599 and $199 respectively. Both the headset and the controllers will be available in a bundle that costs $598 in an effort to make the VR experience more broadly accessible, bringing it closer to the retail price of the more affordable PlayStation VR bundle at $499.
