Nintendo announced after January’s Switch presentation that the new console was coming with a tie-in parental app for both Android and iOS, allowing parents to keep track of how much time their children spend on the Switch and set alerts letting them know when they need to take a break. The app features a wide selection of ways to set it up for children, including age restrictions and a wide variety of custom settings. While it may seem like it’s specifically for parents it does include some useful features for regular players, such as recording total play time in each game and being able to set time notifications or alarms. The app is completely free but does require users be over 18 and have a Nintendo account in addition to an internet connection in order to use it.
