Donnie Yen to Star in Sleeping Dogs Movie Adaptation

Sleeping Dogs is getting a film adaptation and martial-arts movie star Donnie Yen is set to play the lead role. Deadline reported the news yesterday that Neal Mortiz will be directing the film. For those who didn’t play Square Enix’s 2012 hit, the story revolves around an undercover cop taking down organized crime group the Triads in Hong Kong. Donnie Yen played in a movie with a similar plot, Special ID. Yen is mainly known for his work in the IP Man trilogy where he plays the mentor of Bruce Lee by the same name and his recent starring role as Chirrut Îmwe in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. There is currently no word for a release date of the film.
