Players Can Take to the Slopes for Free This Weekend in Steep

Steep was one of those titles that I appreciated despite its flaws. With a top notch curated soundtrack, impressive graphics, and some fun play, there was enough there to make it a decent time for the action-sports gamer. It seems that Ubisoft Annecy wasn’t quite happy with that, and have released a free update. Set in Alaska, players will discover new places to grind and shred , as well as take a long spineline down Mount Denali. Also included in the update is an update to the Editor Mode, including new camera angles and HUD removal. Free content is great and all, but the fact that Ubi has announced that they have done a bunch of work to improve trick controls and spawning system gives me reason to want to jump back in.

The thing is that Ubisoft is so confident in this update, they have decided to let anyone see it for themselves by having a free weekend. The specific times depends on the platform. They break down as follows:

  • Xbox One: 3/10 at 12:01 a.m. PT to 3/13 at 11:59 p.m. PT
  • PS4: 3/10 at 10 a.m. PT to 3/13 at 10 a.m. PT
  • Ubisoft’s Store: 3/10 at 10 a.m. PT to 3/13 at 10 a.m. PT

Anyone who decides that they like it will be able to purchase it at a discounted price. The standard edition will be 50% off, while the Gold version will be 40% off. Even without the improvements, the game would still be worth checking out for free for the weekend. I imagine there will be quite a few converts.
