Cartoon Network and Capybara Games Team Up for OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes

While Cartoon Network currently has Steven Universe: Save the Light in development to cover major video games based on their current shows, they dropped another sudden surprise today with not only the announcement of a new series, OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes, but also an integrated console game to be developed in tandem with the show going by the same name. But perhaps the biggest shocker was the talent that would be working on the game: None other than Superbrothers: Sword & Sorcery EP and Super Time Force developers Capybara Games, who will deliver an action brawler with RPG elements based on the show for a release this Fall.

Originally beginning life as a result of a game jam, an animated short by Steven Universe co-executive producer Ian Jones-Quartey, and a standalone mobile game by the name of OK K.O.! Lakewood Plaza Turbo, OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes is set in Lakewood Plaza, a mall for heroes where main character K.O. and friends show off, level up, home their skills, and battle the evil Lord Boxman. Much like Save The Light, a lot of details are scarce right now, but more will be revealed at PAX East. For now, we have the show’s intro theme to check out, along with a few screenshots seen below. It looks like an energetic winner for Cartoon Network in both mediums, so stay tuned for more of OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes as both the show and game approach their launch dates.
