Paradox Interactive has announced that Cities: Skylines has sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide. The game has celebrated its two year anniversary and will give players some free DLC.
The content will be a building pack called “Pearls From the East.” The pack contains three new buildings, a Panda Zoo, Shanghai Pearl Tower and a Chinese Temple. No words on an exact release date yet, other than “soon.”
Cities: Skylines sold over a million copies by April 2015, just a month after its release in March 2015. Astonishing numbers and for many the game marked everything they wanted to see from that Sim City sequel we never really got.
Chief executive of developer Colossal Order, Mariina Hallikainen, went on to say thank you to the game’s community for its long support. “Seeing how many people have rallied around it, and seeing the incredible community sharing their cities and mods has been so rewarding and inspiring.”
Cities: Skylines is still due for its launch on Xbox One and the aim is for some time before the end of June after it was announced for that console at Gamescom 2015.
