Last year, we caught wind of Microgons on Greenlight and now it’s finally available on Steam. What’s it all about? Well, developer Dog Hoggler calls it the equivalent of “4D chess.”
Players pick their team from over 20 different “Microgons” and send them into turn-based battles online (in 1v1 matches). Gameplay itself is definitely inspired by chess, though the variety of skills and board aren’t the same. The game also features an 80s aesthetic sure to please fans of vaporwave music.
Microgons is available with a launch week discount of $4.49 on Steam and comes with achievements and trading cards.
