Activision and Bungie officially announced Destiny 2 this week with a trailer. At the same time, the last expansion for the first Destiny, Age of Triumph, has been released as it looks to close the book on the story that started nearly three years ago. Bungie had stated in the past that there is a ten year plan in place for the series, but just because the second game has been announced, this does not mean that support will stop for the first game.
According to DeeJ from Bungie via GamesRadar, he states, “Destiny 1 is still a game that will be there for players,” say DeeJ. “We’ve planned to support it for the foreseeable future, so while we do have a sense of finality and closure as the theme of this [Age of Triumph] event, we are by no means turning the lights off on Destiny 1.” We can certainly expect more from Destiny 2 in the coming months.
