Naughty Dog’s dynamic duo are getting a second life on PS4 later this year.
Before Nathan Drake and the Uncharted series, their was Jak and Daxter on the PS2. Naughty Dog’s exploits on the PS2 may not have gotten them as much attention as their exploits on PS3, but the Jak and Daxter games were excellent platforming games back in the day. Well, Sony are bringing them back via their PS2 Classics program on PS4.
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, and Jak 3 will be available on PS4 as digital downloads from the PS Store later this year. Furthermore, the fan-favorite Jak X: Combat Racing, which brings vehicular combat to the Jak and Daxter universe, is also coming to PS4 as a PS2 Classic. Unfortunately, online multiplayer will not be included with this entry.
As PS2 Classics, these four Jak and Daxter games won’t receive the full remaster treatment, but will be enhanced. There will be 1080p up-rendering, trophy support, Shareplay, Remote Play, and Activity Feeds. While disappointing these classics won’t be full HD remasters, it is nice that we’ll finally be able to play them on a current-gen platform.
