Aonuma Says Open World Is the Future of Zelda

A recent interview from this week’s issue of Famitsu reveals that Eiji Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, plans for more Legend of Zelda games to have the “open-air” design that’s present in the Wii U/Switch title. Breath of the Wild is a huge success for Nintendo. Outside of a phenomenal critical reception, it has been their fastest selling game of the year.

Breath of the Wild has been applauded for vastly changing the structure of Zelda so this news is great for anyone who enjoyed the changes. There are still many things that can be done with the new structure and the Nintendo Switch is early in its life, so there’s more to be explored with the series and its relationship with the hardware.
