Battlefield 1 is getting a new map in June, but you’ll need to own the Premium Pass to get it.
Battlefield 1: In The Name of the Tsar may be a long ways away from release, but DICE is hoping a new map will help tide players over. That new map is Nivelle Nights, the first night map in Battlefield 1. The map is set in the Chemin des Dames in 1917, which hosted the Second Battle of Aisne and was the main component of the Nivelle Offensive.
Players will fight for either France or Germany as they battle over the muddy battlefields or Malmaison and Soupir. As a night map, players will need to rely on the light of the moon, searchlights, and artillery lights in order to navigate the vast network of trenches. It’s set to be a thrilling map, but only Premium Pass owners will be able to play it. At this time, it is unknown if they map will eventually release for all players. Considering the French army are locked behind a paywall, and this map features them, it seems unlikely.
Nivelle Nights launches this June for Premium Pass owners on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
