It looks like Darksiders III is real thanks to a convenient leak from Amazon.
The Darksiders franchises looks set to continue under the watchful eye of new publisher THQ Nordic and developer Gunfire Games. After acquiring the IP from THQ during the publisher’s bankruptcy, the Nordic publisher has been working to reestablish the franchise. It released remastered versions of Darksiders and Darksiders II on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and now it looks like a proper sequel is on its way.
Amazon has leaked Darksiders III, and, remarkably, the product listing is still up. While Darksiders focused on War and Darksiders II on Death, Darksiders III will focus on Fury, a mage who utilizes a whip and magic. According to the product listing, players will be able to utilize Fury’s magic to unleash various forms that grant her new weapons, moves, and traversal abilities. Furthermore, players will be able to explore an open-ended, living game world. Finally, Darksiders III will put Fury against the Seven Deadly Sins.
Obviously, this all needs to be taken with a grain of salt. However, considering the product listing contains actual artwork and screenshots, this is likely real and we should expect an announcement soon. The game appears to be scheduled for a 2018 release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We’ll let you know should THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games make any announcements concerning Darksiders III.
