Retron HD Hopes to Fill the NES Classic Gap

Those who wanted but were unable to find NES Classic consoles were more than a little unhappy when Nintendo declared they were stopping production. Third-party console manufacturer Retron is hoping to draw some attention from their new product.

Retron HD eschews any previous attempts to look like its “own” console and has adopted the color and styling of a North American NES. And, unlike the Retron 1 from years ago, it finally features 720p support.

The device comes with a cart slot (just as the original Retron did) and plays PAL and NTSC NES cartridges and the included controller has a ten foot long cable. Retron HD will cost $39.99 and launches on May 25.
