Excited to play the next installment into the beloved Ace Combat series? Well you might have to wait a little longer. Originally slated for a release by the end of the year, Bandai Namco has announced through an open letter today that they won’t be able to make the original deadline.
“We would have loved to launch ACE COMBAT 7 at the end of 2017 as we originally intended, but doing so would compromise our goal for the game,” stated Kazutoki Kono, Ace Combat Franchise Director. “We take our art very seriously and that means we have instead chosen to devote additional time and effort to perfect and optimize this newest chapter of the ACE COMBAT saga.”
While this is a disappointing result, so long as Kazutoki and his team at Bandai Namco are able to create the best Ace Combat yet, then this delay is an insignificant bump in the road. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC sometime next year, with more to be seen at E3 next month.
