As the rumors have suggested, there will be items that allows you to skip the story and even level up a job to max in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. This will allow you to get right into the expansion without having to play the incredibly lengthy existing story.
Firstly, there are two items available in the Mogstation starting June 16 will allow you to skip either A Realm Reborn or Heavensward, along with a number of side quests that are tied to dungeons (although it won’t automatically complete the dungeons for you). You’ll also receive a Chocobo as you do in the main story, but with a randomly generated name, and the Grand Company Enrollment will be determined by your starting city. You’ll also have access to all of the cutscenes from the get-go.
As for the Job Level-boost, you’re able to jump one job/class (per account) to level 60. This will come with a full set of gear (armor and a weapon), along with all of the job quests and skills unlocked.
Unfortunately, all of this comes at a price:
- A Realm Reborn Story Skip: $18.00 / 1,944 Yen / £13.31 / €15.75 Euros
- Heavensward Story Skip: $25.00 / 2700 Yen / £18.50 / €21.72
- Job Level-boost: $25.00 / 2700 Yen / £18.50 / €21.72
In addition, Square Enix has released a video showcasing the various jobs abilities (along with the new gauge). Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood will be available for PC and PlayStation 4 on June 20, but those who pre-order will gain access to the game four days early.
