The team at Ys Net have decided to stay home during E3 week to focus on the development of Shenmue 3.
Word comes by way of Wario 64 (relayed by NeoGaf user jbug617), who posted a statement from the Shenmue 3 team to Twitter which noted their decision to refrain from game shows during the month of June.

In their most recent developer update, however, they did give fans and backers a little taste of something new, revealing a new character. No name or any details about the character were mentioned, but he can be seen in the character model editor doing simple motions. He’s a big guy and reminds us of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast.
Shenmue 3 was originally revealed on the Sony stage at E3 in 2015. There, they announced a Kickstarter, which soared to become the fastest funded game on the site at the time. The game is planned for a December 2017 release on PlayStation 4 and PC.
