It seems that some of the best games for virtual reality are those that transport the player to a world that simply cannot be visited in reality. That is precisely the goal that developer The Rogue Initiative shot for, and based on the trailer footage, they hit it. The newly released Crowe: The Drowned Armory certainly captures the eye, what with its lush landscapes and hulking futuristic ships combined with medieval fantasy style.
The game promises to combine room scale puzzle solving with bow and arrow action to help keep things fresh, as players are cast in the role of a defender of the untouched planet of Jayde. Along with the help of an A.I. fairy, players will need to restore a core, activate a giant robot, and defeat a dragon, all while contending with waves of smaller flying machines. This is set to be the first in an episodic series right now, but The Rogue Initiative also wants people to know that a free survival mode will soon be added to this release to increase the longevity of the game. While it is only available for the Vive right now, the Oculus version will release on June 13 with a PlayStation VR edition to follow.
