With the start of the NA LCS today, Echo Fox has signed 5 very familiar faces to their NACS team.
The new Delta Fox roster is as follows:
- Michael “Imaqtpie” Santana
- Marcus “Dyrus” Hill
- William “Scarra” Li
- Joedat “Voyboy” Esfahani
- Danny “Shiphtur” Le
It seems the main thing contributing to this signing for Echo Fox was the social media outreach that each player holds. According to the announcement, combined throughout all of the platforms they have a reach of 7.8 million. So even if the team isn’t winning on the Rift they will surely bring a lot of attention to the organization and the lower tournament as a whole.
Signing older LCS talent isn’t anything new in the NACS, but this takes the cake due to who we’re dealing with and how long they’ve been away. Shiphtur and Dyrus are the most recent of players followed by Scarra leaving in 2015. The furthest away from competitive play is split between Imaqtpie and Voyboy who both left their teams sometime in 2014. Here’s what owner Rick Fox had to say about the signings.
As a former pro athlete, I know what it takes to compete at the highest level. You need hard work, a positive mind, and to be surrounded by an equally motivated team. You have to be in it to win it, and every one of these players has proved this time and time again, whether competing professionally or building their own brands and identities through livestreaming. These are tremendous athletes with tremendous identities, and we couldn’t be happier to have this dream team be a part of Echo Fox
