E3 2017: Annapurna Interactive Now Publishing Ashen For Xbox One

How long has it been since we’ve last heard from Ashen? The indie game was last shown two years ago during Microsoft’s E3 2015 press conference, and now it’s resurfaced again during their E3 2017 press conference. This time around, though, it’s picked picked up by publishers Annapurna Interactive (who also helped bring us What Remains of Edith Finch earlier), with a new trailer being shown off for the dark title.

That said, the trailer itself is rather mysterious, showcasing a world where there is no sunlight and the only natural light comes from eruptions that coat the land in ash, hence the title. We still have a lot to learn about the plot, though, although the new clip does tell us that Ashen is a third-person RPG game (also describe as having open world gameplay), with an emphasis in some unique fantasy creatures and a striking art style. Ashen will be released in 2018 as an Xbox One console launch exclusive, so keep an eye out for it.
