NA LCS Summer Split Week 3 Day 2 Predictions

Echo Fox 2-0’d Team EnVy! It only took a Game one comeback and about two hours combined but they did it. In the match before Immortals took care of Team Liquid en route to taking over the top spot, however fickle it may be right now.  Here’s the bracket so far:

1. Immortals

2. Counter Logic Gaming, Team Dignitas, Team EnVy, Echo Fox

6. Team SoloMid, Cloud9

8. Team Liquid, FlyQuest

10. Phoenix1

Minus Phoenix1, for right now, and Team Liquid this might be the most even split we’ve had. There’s a lot left but right now everyone seems to be able to find wins against each other. P1 is the only exception to that and they have a tough week ahead. Here are the matches for this week.

  • Team Liquid vs Team SoloMid (0-2)
  • Immortals vs Cloud9 (1-2)
  • FlyQuest vs Counter Logic Gaming (1-2)
  • Phoenix1 vs Team Dignitas (0-2)

As I’ve said before and multiple times every split, TL is having a rough go of things. I was looking at their stats from yesterday and the thought crossed my mind that they may just need to scrap everything and start over next split. Of course keeping Piglet isn’t a bad thing, but I don’t think it seriously hurts them to just gather new players in the other roles. What’s the worst thing that could happen? They keep losing? It isn’t a knock on them either as I truly think they all have talent, but something isn’t working. This week they have TSM who are a perennial top of the table team. Finding a win here would be impressive for them, but I don’t think it’ll happen.

Alongside that match is one to surely be more entertaining assuming everything goes to plan. IMT is having a great split and can give C9 a run for their money. Like their rivals, TSM, C9 is always a contender. They had a rough first week of action but have managed to even things up in the second week en route to another Worlds bid. I think they can beat IMT, but it’ll definitely take their best. IMT have had a hot start and look like they’re making another bid for the top spot. For two consecutive splits, they were the best regular season team, but couldn’t bring it together in the playoffs. This will be another jungler/mid battle. Who can get off to the better start?

Along with IMT, CLG is looking like their offseason swap is working out for them as well. Prior splits they had a hard time not staying in the middle of the table all season. Today, they have FlyQuest who managed to pick up their first win against P1 last week. For this match all CLG needs to do is stay strong from start to finish. I know I type that out like it’s an incredibly easy thing to do, but finding an early game lead is something they should be able to do. Maintaining that lead against a team that can come back through the tiniest opening you give is incredibly hard.

P1 and DIG is similar to TL and TSM except P1 winning here wouldn’t be impressive. We all know they’re a strong team they just need to get it going again. For P1 their goal should be don’t give Ssumday Fiora and don’t get him fed on anything else he gets. Then worry about the rest of the match. For DIG it’s much simpler. Just get Ssumday fed and watch the split push. GG EZ for DIG.
