E3 2017: Nintendo Reigns Supreme at E3 Game Critics Awards

This year’s E3 is already starting to feel like a distant memory, but one final drop of coverage has reared its head: the winners for the E3 Game Critics Awards.

Super Mario Odyssey, which was nominated for several of Hardcore Gamer’s own E3 awards, came away victorious, winning in each of the three categories it was nominated for, including Best of Show. Nintendo scored a fourth award with Metroid: Samus Returns winning Best Handheld Game, plus the developer received some bonus points with its collaborative effort with Ubisoft, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, taking home two awards of its own, Best Original Game and Best Strategy Game. A few other points of interest from the E3 Game Critics Awards: Microsoft’s Xbox One X acquired the Best Hardware/Peripheral award, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, despite each being nominated for four categories, only took one award home between the two of them, as Wolfenstein II secured the Best Action Game.

Check out the full list of winners here, and keep it tuned to Hardcore Gamer for all the latest on E3’s biggest (and smallest) titles.
