CD Projekt RED Celebrates The Witcher’s 10th Anniversary

Based on a set of books by Andrzej Sapkowski, CD Projekt RED brought the award winning franchise to households ten years ago. Originally released exclusively for PC in late 2007, The Witcher was an incredibly hardcore RPG that followed the suave, yet somewhat grizzled Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher who hunts down creatures that go bump in the night. There’s far more to it, though, as the character building, world building and somewhat politically-driven story of the franchise made it something enticing to dive into.

CD Projekt RED went from a small Polish studio into one of the most recognized game developers on the planet for its dedication to quality and attention to detail. In the course of ten years they have created three multi-million selling titles, not to mention they’re developing a game based on the popular Gwent card game, and a brand new franchise, Cyberpunk 2077, that should be coming at some point down the road.

Today, CD Projekt RED is celebrating their phenomenal hit game franchise with a lovely video dedicated to the fans, creating a heartfelt moment that should have every dedicated player holding back their tears.

It has been a long road, but hats off to you, CD Projekt, as you have created one of the most memorable fantasy RPGs of the the last decade. Here’s hoping you have success over the next ten years.
