Destiny 2 may have only just launched on PS4 and Xbox One, but it looks like details for Expansion I have leaked.
Bungie has plenty of activities planned for the coming months to keep players hooked on Destiny 2, but nothing keeps players going quite like new content. The developer is currently planning two expansions for Destiny 2, but have been mum on the details. However, it looks like one of the major platform holders couldn’t keep the secret in any longer.
The Xbox Store has gone live with a game page for Destiny 2 Expansion I: Curse of Osiris, confirming reports heard last week. Curse of Osiris focuses on the titular Warlock as players travel to Mercury for the first time ever to learn his secrets. The expansions as Mercury as an explorable world and features new story missions, gear, co-op, and Crucible content. The area of Mercury players will explore will be the Infinite Forest. There’s currently no release window. Here’s the description from the Xbox Store page:
“Destiny 2 Expansion I: Curse of Osiris continues your Guardian’s journey with all-new story missions and adventures set in a new destination, Mercury. Journey through time and space to learn the secrets of Osiris, avert a dark future, and rebuild the ties between the legendary Warlock and his greatest student – Ikora Rey.”
While we’re still waiting for confirmation on Curse of Osiris from Bungie on Activision, it does appear that this is real as it comes from a direct source (Xbox). It would appear that Bungie is learning from past mistakes. Dark Below and House of Wolves, expansions for Destiny 1, were heavily criticized for reusing old content and not providing much new stuff. Curse of Osiris appears to alleviate that by adding a new world, a new story, and a whole lot of other new stuff.
Destiny 2 is out now on PS4 and Xbox One, and October 24 on PC. Be sure to check back soon for our full review of the game.
