Despite Capcom saying that there wouldn’t be any additional editions for Street Fighter V before the game’s arrival, it looks like the Japanese publisher has changed their mind. To their credit, it did take them close to two years for a new version to be revealed, but we now have an upcoming enhanced edition for the tournament oriented fighting game.
Capcom has revealed today that Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is in development, and will be coming out early next year. This will feature, as the name suggests, not only an Arcade mode, but also Extra Battle Mode, a Gallery, a redesigned UI, and all 28 characters (including those who came as DLC) who now obtain a second V-Trigger. Best yet, all of this will be made free to existing Street Fighter V owners as part of their free in-game update program.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will remain a console exclusive for PlayStation 4 (with a PC version via Steam available) on January 16.
