Highlighted as one of the key “Nindies” Nintendo chose to spotlight last month as an upcoming indie game for the Switch, Headup Games and developers Pixel Perfex made quite an impression on people with their upcoming 2D shooter, Earth Atlantis. Set in a world where human civilization has fallen and ninety-six percent of the world is now underwater, you step into the shoes of a hunter tasked with defeating the hybrids of of machines and marine life that now populate the undersea wreckage. And with the game now being released for all to enjoy, you can try your luck at taking down as many of these behemoths as you can.
As seen in the below trailer, Earth Atlantis has a unique style meant to evoke the days of sketch-like, hand-drawn maps used by sea-faring adventurers, in contrast to its futuristic post-apocalyptic setting. We also see several of the creatures you’ll be navigating these sunken labyrinths to find, and unsurprisingly, they do not look happy to see you. Earth Atlantis is now available for the Switch via the Nintendo eShop, so so give it a whirl if you think you can handle such beasts.
