Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA was meant to be both the continuation of a much-loved franchise and a great start for NIS America handling the Ys license after XSEED Games.
Unfortunately, the release featured typographical and grammatical errors in the script, as well as other translation flubs. Instead of ignoring player complaints, NIS America president and CEO Takuro Yamashita addressed the issue head on. In a public apology, he has committed to new translators going over the entire script to fix errors and retranslate portions which require it.
This updated localization will be available as a free download on the PS4 and PS Vita copies of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA. The Steam release will have the update by default when it launches. This work is expected to be completed by the end of November.
