Next Battlefield 1 Map Pack, Turning Tides, Detailed

The next set of maps, weapons and vehicles coming to Battlefield 1 fall under the title Turning Tides and feature what they’re calling amphibious battles.

In total, Turning Tides will bring with it 4 maps, 6 weapons, a new Elite Class, two new vehicles and a new Operation.

Cape Helles is a map set on the beaches of Gallipoli, where the British will try to storm through the Ottoman controlled peninsula. EA notes that the land, sea and air conflicts will all play a defining part in winning on this map. Achi Baba is a British versus Ottoman map as well, set in Gallipoli too, but further in, focusing on a hilltop that the British are trying to overtake. Heligoland Bight is a water-heavy map, focussing on the German and British forces as they duke it out over the red cliffs of Rocky Cove. And Zeebrugge will take us to Belgium in a close-quarters port where the British are raiding the Germans.

With all of the maps featuring the British forces, there will also be a new uniform to wear, called the Royal Marines uniform, which are a naval blue and were worn by the elite group of the same name.

In terms of weaponry, the M1917 Trench Carbine, the Maschinenpistole, the M1912/P.16, the Farquhar-Hill, the M1917 MG, the Carcano M91 Carbine, and the Type 38 Arisaka will all be joining the roster. The Naval Cutlass and Grappling Hook will also be added as melee weapons.

The Infiltrator is a new Elite Class that allows players to sprint infinitely and call artillery strikes. The Infiltrator can also deploy a mobile spawn beacon. A new L-Class Destroyer has four seats and is equipped with cannons, torpedoes, AA guns, and mines. And the C-Class Airship carries one pilot and three gunmen.

The Gallipoli peninsula will also host a new Operation, where players will fight through Cape Helles and Achi Baba.

All of this comes with the Premium Pass, which will run $49.99.

The Turning Tides DLC is coming out in an odd way. The main chunk of the content will come in December, leaving out two of the maps (Heligoland Bight and Zeebrugge) and the Royal Marines skins, which will come out in January.
