Select Xbox 360 Games to Receive the Xbox One X Enhanced Treatment

It isn’t just Xbox One games that are getting the Xbox One X enhanced treatment when the console launches next month.

Xbox One games like Gears of War 4 were obviously going to be enhanced for Xbox One X. These titles show off the power of Xbox One, so it makes sense they would be updated to show off the advanced hardware in the Xbox One X. However, Microsoft has a surprise for those who enjoy playing their Xbox 360 games on Xbox One.

Select Xbox 360 games will be enhanced for Xbox One X. The backwards compatibility team developer the Heutchy Method which utilizes the power of Xbox One X to let the 360 emulator display the best version of the game possible with all it’s current assets. Developers won’t need to go in and touch the game’s code. As such, Xbox 360 games in the program will be displayed at higher resolutions when played on Xbox One X.

Now, the list isn’t very big quite yet. In fact, there are currently only four titles that will feature this enhanced support when Xbox One X launches. However, expect Microsoft to roll more titles out in the near future. For now, here are the current titles supported:

  • Assassin’s Creed
  • Fallout 3
  • Halo 3
  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Xbox One X is out November 7 for $499. Today, Microsoft also announced the first batch of original Xbox games heading to the backwards compatibility program. While they won’t be enhanced for Xbox One X, they will be playable on the console.
