XING: The Land Beyond started development when its creators were in college. A first-person puzzle game, XING is named after the place the game occurs in — XING. In-game, XING is the afterlife and when people go to the afterlife in games… they tend to solve the mysteries surrounding the environment. It’s an exploration type game, with environmental puzzles that players can solve with powers. Of course, exploration implies context and context implies story so XING’s player progress is book-ended with tidbits of personal stories revealed by spirits who are freed upon the completion of an area.
