Obtain a Free Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Outfit for Breath of the Wild

There were some big announcements to come from today’s Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Direct. However, it seems the world is expanding just a little bit. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild receives a free outfit from the game for Link to dress up!

Players can embark on a new sidequest in order to discover Rex’s costume. Details have not yet been revealed as to where in Hyrule it could be located. There is also no word if it will offer any power-ups for Link to take advantage of. This is likely only available for the Switch version of Breath of the Wild and not the Wii U. But we won’t have to wait long to find out as the costume and quest are available on November 9.

It’s pretty fun seeing these two massive open world games coming together in such a small way. Look for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to release on December 1.

  • The Gamer Bros

I just talked with the Nintendo customer service in US and they DON’T know if the DLC is going to be on both consoles. The video was saying “the owners of the game will be able to play the side quest to get the costume”. How did you assume by this that it is NOT going to be on the Wii U?
If it wasn’t the tips of the wild channel that only the switch owners enjoy, I would be sure that this free DLC will be on the Wii U version as well, but now I am not sure… It makes sense for it to BE on the Wii U because Nintendo promised that the gamers will have the same experience in both consoles (tips of the wild doesn’t give ANYTHING new-it only gives some items which can be found easily on the game- here we are talking about a whole new 3-piece of armor set AND a side quest). It can also serve as a commercial for switch owners to get the switch to play Xenoblade 2. On the other hand, it also make sense NOT to be on the Wii U since the Xenoblade 2 is only available on the switch and maybe there is an issue because of this (it is unlike though since all these games are Nintendo titles). We’ll see in two days. I’m going to send email and letters everywhere till I get a formal response from Nintendo if something like this happens and I cannot get the armor.
