A single minute isn’t a lot of time but it’s going to have to do. Lonely Mountains is a mountain biking game currently getting funded on Kickstarter and, with a bit less than a week to go it’s now got a demo available that gives you a full minute from the moment you kick off at the peak to get as far down the trail as possible. You’ll need to go to the Lonely Mountains web site and enter your e-mail address to get it, but the link arrives quickly and the reward is a brief look at a game that’s exactly what the campaign is promising barring the demo’s time limit. The controls are simple, the bike nimble, and skids feel just right when you’re tearing around a corner too quickly. There’s not a hint of soundtrack, but rather the chirping of birds and rush of wind to reinforce the feeling that it’s just you alone on the trail without a hint of civilization getting in the way. Also, I had to re-play the game three times to verify that bit because I kept getting caught up in playing and forgot to listen. I really can’t think of a better recommendation than that.
Head on over to the Kickstarter campaign to get a look at the game, or just go straight to the Lonely Mountains web site to check out the demo. Or take a peek at the trailer below and then do it. We don’t control how you spend your time.
