Starbreeze Studios and Behaviour Interactive on Thursday announced that Dead by Daylight has sold over three million copies.
Dead by Daylight, which launched on PC in 2016 before its 2017 release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, was able to pass the milestone with its sales across all platforms and formats.
The announcement comes on the same day that Dead by Daylight: Special Edition is released to the Asian market, which includes Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.
Released earlier this year for North America and Europe, the Special Edition includes the original soundtrack, The Bloodstained Sack and Of Flesh and Mud DLCs, ‘80’s suitcase add-on and new content currently in the works.
Dead by Daylight’s most recent update, which introduced the horror icon Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, was its fastest-selling add-on to date, Starbreeze Studios confirmed.
According to Starbreeze Studios, the Freddy Krueger DLC will be “available as a paid update together with the full slate of additional content closely following the PlayStation 4 Dead by Daylight: Special Edition release in Asia.”
Dead by Daylight has four players becoming survivors and one chosen to be the killer. Survivors must stay alive throughout an online match or find a way to
kill escape from the killer.
Dead by Daylight’s killer can vary in choice, from original characters such as the Trapper and the Wraith to icons like Halloween’s Michael Myers and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s Leatherface.
