Not a lot of games feature broken robots. But developer Freshly Squeezed and publisher SOEDESCO’s Defunct is an indie adventure game with just that, as well as a post-human Earth. The game isn’t trying to be as complex as the setting implies, however. Defunct is about racing to safety, using gravity to one’s advantage. As such, much of it is about speed, dashing through different climates and biomes as one would expect to find on a dumpy Earth people have left behind. For those who like to earn rewards, they can unlock different skins for the player character, while the competitive crowd can race to be the world’s fastest in time trial mode.
See a trailer for Defunct below. Defunct is out already on PC via Steam, but it will head to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on December 19.
