Between the high peaks of Grim Fandango and The Walking Dead, there’s a notable gap in the 2000s where graphic adventure games tended to be ignored, save for a few select titles. Among these are the Black Mirror games (not to be confused with the British television show of the same name), gothic horror stories that garnered a bit of praise. And now THQ Nordic and developers KING Art Games are ready for their reboot of the series, set to come out on Tuesday, with a new gameplay trailer seen below.
Set in Scotland circa 1926, the game sees you playing as David Gordon, a man visiting his ancestral home after his father’s suicide. As it turns out, the Gordons haven’t exactly had the best of luck over time, being tortured by nightmarish visions, and now David has to confront them and learn about this family’s secrets. It may not be a graphical powerhouse, but Black Mirror should hopefully deliver in the story department, and we’ll see if it does when it comes out for PC, PS4, and XB1 on November 28.
