Ho-Oh Finally Appears in Pokemon Go

Niantic has finally brought Ho-Oh, the rainbow bird to Pokemon Go.

Niantic issued a challenge, and players rose to the occasion. Over three billion Pokemon were captured during the Global Catch Challenge, and the developer is ready to reward players for a job well done. For a limited time, players will be able to capture the Legendary Pokemon, Ho-Oh. He is currently appearing in Raid Battles and Gyms around the world, and will continue to do so until December 12. Other rewards will last until December 1 and include double XP, double Stardust, and increased Pokemon spawns among other goodies.

Ho-Oh is the latest Legendary Pokemon to make its way into Pokemon Go. The Pokemon was officially introduced as the mascot of Pokemon Gold, and has since become very popular among fans. Other previously released Legendary Pokemon include Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Lugia, Mewtwo, and the Legendary Dogs. Pokemon from the third-generation (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald) are expected to hit the game in 2018.

Pokemon Go is available now for download on iOS and Android devices.
