Ardyn, the mysterious antagonist of Final Fantasy XV, will finally get his own DLC episode in 2018.
Fans have been asking for it, and Square Enix is finally delivering. During today’s Active Time Report, Square Enix confirmed that at least three additional DLC episodes will be released in 2018, and that one of them will be centered around the game’s main antagonist. Ardyn’s past has long been a mystery, and fans have been asking for content focused on his story. Though we have no details about what the DLC will be about, it is nice to know its coming.
No word on who the other two DLCs will focus on. One will likely focus on Luna, another highly demanded character. The final DLC episode is anyone’s guess at this point. Currently, three DLC packs were released this year focusing on Noctis’ comrades; Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis. Each episode focused on a point in the story where the character was separated from the main party. A fourth DLC pack, Comrades, added online co-op to the game.
Square Enix also confirmed that a long-awaited feature will be arriving with the December update. Once the update lands, players will be able to switch between the four characters in the main game. Gladio, Prompto, and Ignis will play as they do in their respective DLC episodes. This update comes a year after launch, and it’s exciting that the feature is finally being added.
Final Fantasy XV is out now on PS4 and Xbox One. A PC version is set to launch in 2018.
