Bandai Namco Shutting Down Ace Combat Infinity on March 31

Ace Combat never exactly seemed like it was ripe to become a free-to-play MMO, but Bandai Namco gave it the treatment on May 20, 2014. The game has been flying high ever since then, but will soon be brought into the boneyard and mothballed.

Bandai Namco announced tonight that the game will come to a close on March 31, 2018, marking nearly four years of service. To commemorate the game, a rather poignant four minute video was released that gives a quick recap of the most notable updates.

No reason was given for the game’s retirement, but given that it was a PS3 exclusive that was never brought over to current-gen platforms, it’s likely it was simply past its expiration. Check out the farewell video below:
